Questions

Can I change the existing text in my PDF?

Yes. Choose Edit text, click any line and type. When you save, the original words are removed from the page and your new wording is written in the same place, colour and size, in the document’s own font whenever it contains the letters you typed.

Why did my edited line change font?

To keep files small, PDFs usually embed only the letters they actually use. If you type a letter that isn’t in the file’s copy of the font, Plainpage writes that line in the closest standard font (sans, serif or mono, matching weight and style) and tells you while you edit.

Is the old text really gone?

Yes. Edit text rewrites the page’s drawing instructions, so the replaced words can’t be selected, copied or found by search. If a line sits somewhere that can’t be rewritten safely, it is covered with its background colour instead, and the summary tells you. For sensitive information, Redact PDF is still the safest choice.

Does it reflow paragraphs?

No. PDFs store lines, not paragraphs, so each line is edited on its own. Keep replacements about the same length, or edit the next line too.

Does it add a watermark?

Never. What you save is exactly what you made.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Edit PDF runs entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device. It even works offline once the page has loaded.

Is it free?

Yes, completely: no limits, no watermark, no sign-up and no ads.
